A Christmas Story" is probably one of the most popular Christmas movies.
Everybody knows the saying, "You'll shoot your eye out." Well, visit Cleveland
during the Christmas season and you will be able to visit the actual house from
the movie "A Christmas Story." Although the movie was mostly shot on a
soundstage in Toronto, all the outside scenes around the house, including where
Ralphie fought off the bad guys in his dream, were shot at this very house in
Cleveland. A few years back, the house was bought by a fan of the movie and
restored to look exactly like it did in the movie. You can take a guided tour of
the house and the yard and stop at the museum across the street. The museum has
several props from the actual movie set. Admission for adults is approximately
$7.50 and for kids $5.50, kids under 6 are free.
The house is located at: 3159 W. 11th St. Cleveland, OH 44109.

WinterFest 2008
The Downtown Cleveland Alliance will kick off the 25th annual Winterfest
Saturday. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
"It's a tradition for thousands of families," said Joe Marinucci, who leads the Alliance.
Nearly all the event's attractions will be free, including cookies, hot chocolate and photos with Santa.
Among the highlights: the Prayer Warriors will sing carols at Public Square at 5:45 p.m., and the city Christmas tree will be lit at 6 p.m. Then horses will pull 50 carriages in a parade, Cleveland rocker Michael Stanley will perform, and fireworks will explode. Other performers include the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, the Singing Angels Performing Chorus, the Singers Club of Cleveland and UP Ensemble.
The kickoff will take place on several blocks and inside several buildings. Tower City, for instance, will host the Twigbee Shop, Kringle's Inventionasium and the Holiday Express Train.
The parade's grand marshal will be Rosalynn Sumners, silver medalist in figure skating in the 1984 Olympics.
